Chronic back pain relief: use a gymball

If you're looking for chronic back pain relief then seeing one of our practitioners is definitely a good starting point. But did you know there are other things you can do to take good care of your spinal health?

Chronic back pain relief

At Burswood Health we love sharing our expertise and knowledge, here in our regular free video updates, so you can take the best possible care of your own body. Take the use of the gym ball for example. In this video Dr Paul Staerker and Dr Kirsty Sterle demonstrate how to apply proper posture when you're sitting on one of those gym balls. Because if you choose the wrong size, or use it incorrectly, you may think you're doing a good think for your core muscles and for your back, but you're actually making things worse.

How a gymball can help with chronic back pain relief

It's all about strengthening your core muscles, as you have seen and heard in many of our videos. How can you actually strengthen those muscles by just sitting? This is where you become aware of different ways of sitting, even if you spend a lot of time behind a computer. By using a gym ball, you're using certain muscles that you wouldn't use when sitting on a normal chair. And that's where the magic happens. You're now actively using muscles so they become stronger, and you have made the first step towards your chronic back pain relief.
